bottleneck guitar
Glass-finger fret technique
Bottleneck guitar is a style of playing where a glass or metal tube—originally the neck of a bottle—slides along the strings to produce a smooth, gliding sound.
The technique creates a distinctive wailing quality common in blues and country music: He learned bottleneck guitar from old Delta blues recordings.
Also called slide guitar.
