boneyards

Where graves gather

Boneyards is the plural of boneyard—a place where discarded things accumulate.

Originally a graveyard or burial ground, the term now more commonly refers to storage areas for old vehicles, aircraft, or machinery awaiting salvage or scrapping: The desert boneyard held hundreds of retired military planes.

In dominoes and other tile games, the boneyard is the pile of undrawn pieces.
