bond order
Shared electron pair tally
Bond order is a measure of the number of chemical bonds between two atoms.
A single bond has a bond order of one, a double bond two, a triple bond three.
Fractional bond orders occur in molecules with resonance structures, where electrons are delocalized across multiple bonds: The bond order in benzene is 1.5.
