bomblet

Small scattered explosive

A bomblet is a small explosive device released from a larger bomb or missile, typically as part of a cluster munition.

A single bomb may scatter dozens or hundreds of bomblets over a wide area.

Bomblets that fail to detonate on impact become de facto landmines, posing long-term danger to civilians: Children often mistake unexploded bomblets for toys.
