body check
Rink defensive move
A body check is a deliberate collision in hockey or lacrosse, where a player uses their body to block or disrupt an opponent.
The move is legal within rules but can be penalized if excessive.
Outside sports, to body-check someone is to bump them forcefully: He body-checked me in the hallway.
