bodycheck
Defensive ice hit
A bodycheck is a defensive move in ice hockey and lacrosse where a player uses their body to block or knock an opponent off the puck or ball.
The contact must target the torso rather than the head or legs to be legal: He delivered a hard bodycheck at center ice.
As a verb, to bodycheck is to execute such a hit.
