Minimal pool garment
A swim brief is a men's swimsuit that fits snugly and provides minimal coverage, typically cut high on the thigh with no legs.
Also called a Speedo (after the brand that popularized them), swim briefs are favored by competitive swimmers and divers for their low drag in water.
Outside of athletic contexts, they're more common in Europe and Australia than in the United States, where longer swim trunks dominate casual swimming.
