blue giants
Hot luminous stars
Blue giants are massive, luminous stars that burn extremely hot, giving them their blue-white color.
They represent a late stage in stellar evolution, having exhausted the hydrogen in their cores.
Despite the name "giant," they're dwarfed by red supergiants in size but far exceed them in temperature and energy output.
Blue giants burn through their fuel rapidly, living only millions of years before exploding as supernovae.
