bloviator

Long-winded speaker

A bloviator is someone who talks at length in a pompous, self-important way without saying much of substance.

The word carries contempt for windbags who mistake volume for wisdom: cable news bloviators, political bloviators.

From the verb bloviate, which emerged in American English as mock-formal slang for empty speechifying.
