beer mats
Cardboard drink pads
Beer mats are cardboard coasters placed under drinks in pubs and bars to absorb condensation and protect surfaces.
They typically feature brewery logos or advertisements.
In British pub culture, beer mats are sometimes collected or used in games like flipping them off table edges: We spent the evening flicking beer mats.
