baptismal vows
Faith initiation promises
Baptismal vows are the promises made during a Christian baptism ceremony, typically including renunciation of sin and Satan, acceptance of faith in Christ, and commitment to follow church teachings.
In infant baptism, parents and godparents speak the vows on behalf of the child.
Adults may later confirm these vows themselves: She renewed her baptismal vows at Easter.
