confirmation vows
Faith commitment promises
Confirmation vows are the promises made during the Christian rite of confirmation, in which a person affirms the faith declared on their behalf at infant baptism.
The confirmand typically renounces evil, professes belief in God, and commits to following Christ.
In traditions that practice adult confirmation, these vows mark a conscious decision to join the church: She took her confirmation vows at sixteen.
