back spasm
Sudden spine clench
A back spasm is a sudden, involuntary contraction of the muscles in the back, typically causing sharp pain and temporary immobility.
Spasms often strike the lower back and can be triggered by strain, poor posture, or sudden movement: I threw out my back—the spasms are so bad I can barely stand up.
The condition ranges from brief twinges to debilitating episodes lasting days.
