foot cramp
Arch muscle seizing
A foot cramp is a sudden, involuntary contraction of muscles in the foot, causing sharp pain and temporary immobility.
The arch and toes are common sites.
Foot cramps often strike during exercise, sleep, or after prolonged standing: I woke up with a foot cramp and had to walk it off.
