auto-play

Starts without input

Auto-play is a feature that automatically starts the next video, song, or content without user input.

Streaming services use it to keep you watching: I fell asleep and auto-play ran through six episodes.

The term also applies to videos that start playing when you load a webpage—often considered intrusive.

As a verb: The next episode will auto-play in ten seconds.
