asides
Comments for audience
Asides are remarks not intended for everyone present.
In theater, an aside is a line spoken to the audience that other characters supposedly cannot hear.
In conversation, asides are parenthetical comments—tangents or private observations directed at one person while others are nearby: She made a few asides about the boss during the meeting.
The word also names digressive passages in writing.
