apocalypticism

Expecting cosmic finality

Apocalypticism is belief in or preoccupation with an imminent, catastrophic end to the present world order, usually accompanied by divine judgment and the establishment of a new era.

The term applies to religious movements expecting literal end times and to secular anxieties about civilizational collapse: Climate apocalypticism warns of planetary doom.

Apocalyptic is the more common adjective.
