apartment blocks
Multi-unit housing structures
Apartment blocks are large buildings divided into multiple residential units, typically several stories high.
The term is more common in British English; Americans usually say apartment buildings.
The city demolished the old apartment blocks to make way for new development.
A single structure in such a complex is an apartment block.
