anti-colonialists
Independence movement supporters
Anti-colonialists are people who oppose colonialism—the practice of powerful nations establishing control over foreign territories and peoples.
The term applies to those who fought European empires in Africa, Asia, and elsewhere, and to contemporary critics of colonial legacies: Anti-colonialists argued that independence was the only path to true self-determination.
The stance can be political, academic, or activist.
