Wiesbaden

Germany's spa capital

Wiesbaden is a city in western Germany, serving as the capital of the state of Hesse.

Located on the Rhine River near Frankfurt, it has been known since Roman times for its hot springs and developed as a fashionable spa resort in the 19th century.

The city retains much of its elegant Belle Époque architecture and continues to draw visitors to its thermal baths.

We spent a weekend in Wiesbaden enjoying the spas and wine from the surrounding Rheingau region.
