USS Midway

San Diego attraction

USS Midway was a United States Navy aircraft carrier commissioned in 1945, the lead ship of her class and the largest ship in the world at the time of her launch.

She served for 47 years through the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm before being decommissioned in 1992.

The ship is now a museum in San Diego: We visited the USS Midway on our trip to California.
