U-Bahn
Berlin's underground railway
U-Bahn is the German word for a subway or underground metro system, short for Untergrundbahn (underground railway).
The term appears in English when discussing German, Austrian, or Swiss cities: We took the U-Bahn from Alexanderplatz to Potsdamer Platz.
The elevated counterpart is the S-Bahn.
