Tin Man

Metallic forest figure

The Tin Man is a character in L.

Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its adaptations, a woodsman transformed into a figure made entirely of tin who seeks a heart from the Wizard.

He has become a cultural symbol for someone who appears emotionless or mechanical but desires genuine feeling: He acts tough, but he's a real Tin Man underneath. (Lowercase tin man is a metalworker.)
