Wicked Witch
Malevolent female spellcaster
A wicked witch is a malevolent female magic-user, the archetype of evil in fairy tales and fantasy.
The figure crystallized in *The Wizard of Oz* with the green-skinned Wicked Witch of the West, now the default image.
The phrase often appears playfully: She turns into a wicked witch before her morning coffee.
