The Untouchables

Prohibition-era crimefighters

The Untouchables refers to the group of Prohibition-era federal agents led by Eliot Ness who pursued Chicago gangster Al Capone in the late 1920s.

The name came from their reputation for being incorruptible—they couldn't be bribed or intimidated.

The story became a 1959 television series and a 1987 film: I watched The Untouchables last night.
