untouchable
Cannot be grasped
Untouchable describes someone or something that cannot be touched—whether physically out of reach, legally protected, or so powerful that normal rules don't apply.
A politician may seem untouchable until scandal breaks.
An untouchable record appears unbeatable.
In the Indian caste system, untouchables were members of the lowest social group, considered too impure for contact with higher castes—a designation now officially abolished but socially persistent.
The noun and adjective share the same form: He thought he was untouchable; the untouchable class.
