The Postal Service

The Postal Service is an American indie electronic duo formed in 2001, consisting of Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie and Jimmy Tamborello.

The band's name references their creative process: the two musicians mailed recordings back and forth to collaborate.

Their only studio album, *Give Up* (2003), became a cult classic featuring synth-driven tracks like "Such Great Heights." The name occasionally causes confusion with the United States Postal Service, which briefly considered legal action before reaching an agreement allowing the band to use the name.
