Steven Seagal
Steven Seagal is an American actor and martial artist known for action films in the late 1980s and 1990s, particularly *Above the Law* and *Under Siege*.
His screen persona—the invincible, soft-spoken fighter who dispatches enemies with aikido—became a template and later a parody of the genre.
In recent decades he has become better known for direct-to-video films, eccentric public behavior, and controversial ties to authoritarian governments, including Russian citizenship granted by Vladimir Putin.
