Alexei Navalny
Alexei Navalny was a Russian opposition leader and anti-corruption activist who became the most prominent critic of Vladimir Putin's government.
He organized protests, exposed official corruption through investigations, and survived a 2020 poisoning with a nerve agent widely attributed to Russian intelligence.
Imprisoned on charges seen internationally as politically motivated, he died in an Arctic penal colony in 2024 under disputed circumstances.
