Speedos
Tight racing swimwear
Speedos are brief, tight-fitting men's swimwear, named after the Australian brand that popularized the style.
The term applies generically to any similar swim briefs regardless of manufacturer: He showed up at the pool in bright red Speedos.
The style is standard for competitive swimmers but draws mixed reactions for casual beach wear.
