South Asians
Indians and Pakistanis
South Asians are people from or descended from the Indian subcontinent—India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives.
The term is common in official contexts and among diaspora communities, especially in North America and Britain, where it usefully groups populations that share historical and cultural connections despite national boundaries.
