third culture
Between two worlds
Third culture describes the hybrid identity that develops when someone grows up outside their parents' home country, absorbing elements of multiple cultures without fully belonging to any single one.
The term appears most often in third culture kid (TCK), referring to children raised in foreign countries due to their parents' careers—military, diplomatic, missionary, or corporate.
These individuals often feel most at home with others who share the experience of cultural displacement rather than with any particular nationality.
