Senate vote
Congressional roll call
A Senate vote is an official decision made by members of a legislative body called a senate, most often the United States Senate.
The term typically refers to roll call votes on legislation, nominations, or procedural matters: The Senate vote on the healthcare bill is scheduled for Thursday.
Senate votes require different thresholds depending on the matter—simple majority for most legislation, sixty votes to overcome a filibuster, two-thirds for treaty ratification or conviction in impeachment trials.
