Search is the act of looking carefully for something.
You search a room, search your memory, search for answers.
A search can be methodical (police search) or exploratory (search for meaning).
In computing, search means to query a database or the internet: Search for the nearest gas station.
To search someone is to check their person for contraband.
Search me is slang for "I don't know."
