Sandy Hook

Sandy Hook is a barrier spit on the New Jersey coast, part of Gateway National Recreation Area.
The name is more widely known from the 2012 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where twenty children and six staff members were killed.
The massacre intensified American debates over gun control and became a focal point for conspiracy theories falsely claiming the event was staged.
