Adoption agency letters
SPCA is an acronym for Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, an organization dedicated to animal welfare.
SPCAs operate shelters, rescue abused or neglected animals, and advocate for animal protection laws.
The term often appears in contexts of pet adoption or reporting animal abuse: I adopted my dog from the local SPCA.
