SNRIs

Dual reuptake inhibitors

SNRIs, or serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, are a class of antidepressant medications that work by increasing levels of both serotonin and norepinephrine in the brain.

Common SNRIs include venlafaxine (Effexor) and duloxetine (Cymbalta).

They treat depression, anxiety disorders, and certain chronic pain conditions: Her doctor switched her from an SSRI to an SNRI.
