Ribena

British berry drink

Ribena is a British brand of blackcurrant-flavored drink, typically sold as a concentrate to be diluted with water or as a ready-to-drink beverage.

It has been a staple of British childhood since the mid-20th century: Mum packed a carton of Ribena in my lunchbox.

The name derives from *Ribes*, the Latin genus for currants.
