Provisioning

Gathering needed supplies

Provisioning is the process of supplying what's needed—originally food and supplies for a journey or military campaign, now extended to any systematic allocation of resources.

In computing and telecommunications, provisioning means setting up infrastructure, accounts, or services: The IT department handles provisioning for new employees.

A ship provisions before a voyage; a company provisions servers before launch.
