Prelude
Warmup for symphony
A prelude is something that comes before and introduces what follows.
In music, a prelude is an introductory piece—originally one preceding a fugue or suite, later a short standalone composition: Chopin's preludes.
More broadly, any event that precedes and signals another: The skirmish was a prelude to full-scale war.
To prelude is to serve as such an introduction.
