Eugene Delacroix
Eugène Delacroix was a French painter (1798–1863) considered the leader of the Romantic movement in French art.
His work emphasized color, movement, and emotional intensity over the precise draftsmanship favored by Neoclassicists. *Liberty Leading the People*, depicting the 1830 revolution, remains his most recognized image.
His influence extended to the Impressionists, who admired his expressive brushwork and color theory.
