Pintos
Mottled Western mounts
Pintos are beans with mottled skin, typically pale pink or beige with darker speckles, common in Mexican and Southwestern American cooking.
Refried beans are usually made from pintos.
A pinto is also a horse or pony with patches of white and another color: a pinto mare.
The word comes from Spanish for "painted."
