Ford Pinto
The Ford Pinto was a subcompact car manufactured by Ford Motor Company from 1971 to 1980.
It became infamous for a design flaw that made its fuel tank prone to rupture and ignite in rear-end collisions.
The name now serves as shorthand for corporate negligence—a product whose known dangers were weighed against the cost of fixing them: That's some real Ford Pinto logic.
