Otis Redding

Otis Redding was an American soul singer and songwriter whose raw, emotional vocal style helped define 1960s Southern soul.

His recordings for Stax Records, including "These Arms of Mine" and "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay," blended gospel fervor with rhythm and blues.

He died in a plane crash in 1967 at age twenty-six, three days after recording his biggest hit.
