Sun Records
Elvis's first label
Sun Records was a recording studio and record label in Memphis, Tennessee, founded in 1952.
It launched the careers of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins, helping create rock and roll and rockabilly.
The label's raw, echo-heavy sound—achieved partly through Sam Phillips's innovative use of slapback delay—defined early rock music.
He sounds like something off an old Sun Records single.
