Octavia Butler
Octavia Butler was an American science fiction writer whose work explored race, gender, and power through speculative narratives.
Her novels—including *Kindred*, *Parable of the Sower*, and the Patternist series—often featured Black women navigating oppressive systems.
She was the first science fiction writer to receive a MacArthur Fellowship.
I'm rereading Butler's Xenogenesis trilogy.
