Alice Munro

Alice Munro (1931–2024) was a Canadian writer celebrated for her short stories, often set in small-town Ontario and exploring the inner lives of women across generations.

Her prose is deceptively simple, revealing emotional complexity through precise domestic detail.

She won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2013, the first Canadian woman to do so.

Reading Alice Munro is like watching ordinary life suddenly crack open.
