New York City Ballet
Lincoln Center company
New York City Ballet is one of the foremost ballet companies in the world, based at Lincoln Center in Manhattan.
Founded in 1948 by choreographer George Balanchine and arts patron Lincoln Kirstein, it became renowned for Balanchine's neoclassical style—athletic, musical, and stripped of elaborate narrative.
The company is often called NYCB or City Ballet.
