Nellie Bly

Nellie Bly was the pen name of American journalist Elizabeth Cochrane (1864–1922), famous for her undercover exposé of asylum conditions and her record-breaking trip around the world in 72 days.

The name sometimes appears as shorthand for daring investigative journalism: She went full Nellie Bly, getting herself hired at the factory to document conditions.
