Montreal Expos

Canada's former nine

The Montreal Expos were a Major League Baseball team based in Montreal, Quebec, from 1969 to 2004.

Named for Expo 67, the world's fair that had recently showcased the city, they were the first MLB franchise outside the United States.

After years of declining attendance and failed stadium plans, the team relocated to Washington, D.C., becoming the Nationals.
